“Warsaw. Glimpse.” is a concert based on a personal musical narrative about Warsaw — a city experienced subjectively, fragmentarily, and ambiguously. The point of departure is the city’s districts, not as realistic portraits or musical illustrations, but as impulses for associations and emotions that have shaped the composer’s sensibility over the years.

The piece, written for an eight-member instrumental ensemble and voice, combines new classical music with subtle references to tradition — from sacred music to historical allusions — framed within a contemporary sonic language. The whole takes the form of a multi-part mosaic of musical snapshots, in which history and memory are not reconstructed but reinterpreted.

An important element of the composition is the vocal layer based on the poetry of Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński, deepening the personal and literary dimension of the narrative.

“Warsaw. Glimpse.” is a proposal for listeners interested in new music — open, reflective, and rooted in an individual experience of the city rather than in its literal image.

Concert

On 20 February 2026, the walls of the Palace on the Isle at the Royal Łazienki Museum witnessed an exceptional world premiere. In an intimate atmosphere, the suite “Warsaw. Glimpse.” resonated as an intimate dialogue with the identity of the capital.
An eight-member instrumental ensemble led by Marcin Zdunik, supported by the poignant voice of Żaneta Sławińska-Zdunik, guided the audience through a subjective map of Warsaw’s 18 districts. The sounds of cello, vibraphone, and marimba intertwined with Gałczyński’s poetry, creating a multidimensional mosaic of emotions — from the rawness of Praga’s courtyards to the dignified calm of historic routes. It was an evening in which classical architecture met modern sonic sensitivity, forming an unforgettable musical snapshot.
